Ce travail est une étude des interactions s'opérant entre le pouvoir politique et l'art. Il s'agit donc d'un questionnement au sujet de la représentation du pouvoir par l'art. Pour procéder aux constats qui s'imposent dans ce domaine, il convient d'aborder la notion de pouvoir sous ses aspects multiples. Nous constatons que chaque système politique, quel qu'il soit (monarchique, dictatorial ou simplement démocratique) recherche une forme de légitimité par le biais de la représentation. Le pouvoir a recours à des moyens théâtraux pour se "donner à voir" (apparat monarchique). Il doit user de nombreux artifices pour parvenir à convaincre les masses. La quête de la légitimité repose donc sur une volonté d'esthétisation qui va parfois de pair avec une récupération de certains symboles historiques pouvant ainsi créer un impact dans la mémoire collective (empire napoléonien, régime hitlérien). Pour cela, il a besoin de la création artistique. Plusieurs questions se posent alors au sujet de l'implication de l'artiste lorsqu il "représente", c'est-à-dire lorsqu il contribue à matérialiser par son art un pouvoir totalitaire. Peut-on parler, dans ce contexte, d'une sujétion de l'art pourtant issu de l'imaginaire et du sensible au politique ? Comment celle-ci se traduit-elle ? Quelles sont les contradictions concernant un art dit "politique". Il convient d évoquer ici les notions de soumission et d'obéissance et par conséquent le moment où elles sont remises en question, c'est-à-dire le moment où émerge une volonté de résistance. Celle-ci peut se manifester par l'acte artistique quel qu'il soit, voire parfois par la présence qui peut émaner de l'oeuvre d art. Nous verrons comment s'opère une poétique de l'action en corrélation avec une poétique de la résistance en tant que création artistique et ce qu'elle implique dans la représentation du pouvoir...

This work is a study of the interactions which take place between political power and Art. It's a matter of questions about the representation of power by art. To acknowledge what the matter is in this domain, it's advisable to approach the various aspects of the notion of power. We can note that each political system - whatever it may be (monarchy, dictatorship, or democraty) searches for a form of legitimacy trough the representation. The power uses theatrical ways to "be seen" (monarchic ceremonial display). It must use a lot of tricks to succeed in convincing masses of people. The quest of legitimacy is based on a wish of aesthétisation which goes with an exploitation of some historical symbols which can create an impact on collective memory (Napoleon s empire, Hitler s regime). For that reason, it needs the artistic creation. Many questions can be asked about the artist's implication when he represents, that is to say when he contributes to materialize a totalitarian power with his art. In this context, can we talk about, a subjection of art even if coming from the imagination and the emotions to the politics? How can it be expressed? What are the contradictions as far as a political art as it is called, is concerned? It's advisable to mention submission and obedience notions and consequently, the time when they are called in question, that is to say the time when a wish of resistance emerges. This one can appear with an artistic act whatever it may be, and even sometimes with the presence which emanates from a work of art. We will see how a poetry of action closely related to a poetry of resistance as an artistic creation takes place and what it implies for the representation of political power.
